Southwold

Dad is now in Southwold. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southwold I failed on the site I'd found him. It's has no showers nor toilets!!! However what it lacks in facilities it makes up for in the people on the site. There are only four other caravaners on the site. One has lent Dad some bike mags so he has something to read. Another made a brew and had a piece of cake waiting for him while he put up his tent. He hadn't better be having many of those brews if there aren't any toilet facilities!! Tonight Dad is off into Southwold so that he can find a pub/restaurant and use their facilities. Must be remember when looking for sites to check if it has facilities ... I've been too bothered about making sure it takes tents!!!!

Today's route has taken him from Sea Palling through Horsey and Hemsby, Scratby and Casister-on-Sea and down into Great Yarmouth. He tried to find a cafe for his bacon buttie but couldn't find anywhere. He followed the river Yare and over the swing bridge and onto Galston-on-sea. From there it was onto Corton and into Lowestoft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowestoft where he stopped for lunch and found a place serving all day breakfast! It was then onto Southwold. He had a ride along the front and the beach huts - which are now selling for £90,000!!!! Some of today's route has been on cycle route 30.

Last night the site cost £12.00 for the night and you had to pay a £1.00 for the shower, I suppose that's the price you have to pay for the loan of a chair! Tonight they originally wanted to charge £8.00 (and it has no facilities!!!) but they reduced it to £3.00 when they found Dad hadn't arrived by car.

Managed to sort Dad out with a spare key for removing wheels, etc (he's lost his spare). Many thanks Matt at Brian Rourkes for knowing exactly what I needed! Not sure how we will get the key out to Dad ... so he'd better not lose the one he has for now!

Tomorrow Dad is heading towards Woodbridge.
